Associate Job Overview
Overview: EdgePoint Capital is an investment banking firm specializing M&A advisory for
the small to middle markets with a market focus throughout the Great Lakes region. EdgePoint
Capital is currently experiencing significant growth and anticipates opportunities for advancement
and personal growth.
Responsibilities: The Associate will be a key member of the EdgePoint Capital fast growth
organization. The Associate will be responsible for delivering high quality and timely service
and products such as:
- Preparation of Confidential Offering Memorandums and associated Teasers
- Development of business and financial plans
- Sophisticated financial modeling
- Leveraged buyout analysis (LBO modeling)
- Management of internal project organization and delivery
- Development of capital strategies and associated summaries
- Preparation of bank and equity financing requests
- Client relationship maintenance
- Participating in strategy and financial consulting with clients
Required Skills: We prefer that the person have had operating and small business management experience, but the following core skills/ attributes are essential:
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Strong excel skills
- Database development and management awareness
- Desire to grow and learn.
- Strong organizational skills. Driver of projects.
- Ability to understand and relate to middle market business owners
Preferred Experience: We prefer to have an Associate with a minimum of 4 years of financial experience.
The preferred experiences would include analyst for an investment bank, VC or other financially oriented
entity. Strong interest is given to people that have been a CPA for Big 4 firms and possess the ability
to analyze transactions, business and other complex matters.
Travel: Currently minimal travel is required. The Associate must be willing to travel.
